We’ve finally made it class of 2024! Now for tons of grad parties, dinners, and weekend getaways with all your graduate friends. Don’t be that person who shows up empty handed. Whether you are a friend of a grad, family member, or friend of a friend, here are 5 graduation gift ideas that are actually useful and thoughtful.

“God gave us the gift of life; it is up to us to give ourselves the gift of living well.”

-Voltaire

Graduation Gift Ideas-

1. Gift Basket

If you are a close friend or family member who knows all of what this grad likes, then a gift basket might be the way to go. This is a creative way to show your grad how much you actually pay attention to them. Fill up the basket with all their favorite snacks, candy, clothes, products, etc. There so many ways that you can customize it to your graduates liking. Make sure to decorate it with their favorite colors and designs to add even more of a personal touch.

2. Bring a Dish

Some of you may be great cooks or bakers. Come to the party with your famous dip or casserole. Bake some of your graduate’s favorite treats. Anyone will say that food may be one of the best gifts to give. As I like to say, “the way to my heart is though my stomach.”

3. Arts and Crafts

This one’s for all my creatives out there. Maybe you like to draw or paint. Sew or knit. Build or craft. Whatever it is, use your creative gifts to your advantage and create something beautiful and personable for your grad. Maybe make them a piece of jewelry. Draw or paint a picture that reminds them of you. Put together a short film of the most beautiful moments you’ve had together. There so many ways you could go with this. Whatever your creative gift is, use it to make something special for your grad.

4. College Stuff

If your grad is going off to college, give them something that they could use when they go off. It’s reasonable to assume that most high school graduates are under prepared for the number of things they will need to have when they leave home for college. Buy them something off their amazon and target registry. Get them a new laptop, headphones, blanket, water bottle, a college survival book, you name it. There’re so many things that our high school graduates could use for college.

5. Money

You can never go wrong with a little cash. Our fathers’, uncles’, and grandfathers’ favorite gift. No one ever complains about receiving money. This could be given as straight up as cash in an envelope or sending money through cash app. You could give money in a form of a gift card to some of your graduate’s favorite stores and restaurants. Or you could get creative and create a money bouquet or stole. No matter how you give it, I’m sure your graduate will be appreciative of it.
